SDR reports 35,043 cubic yards removed; county urged residents to set debris out now

Roger Dale, project manager for Southern Disaster Recovery (SDR), said contractors have completed substantial debris removal across Haywood County and are moving toward final passes and cleanup. "As of today, we've moved 35,043 cubic yards of what we call C and D construction debris as well as vegetative debris," Dale said, and reported 11,521 cubic yards hauled from the two TDMS sites to final disposal.
Dale described the county-contractor QA process, explained that TDMS sites are not permitted for municipal solid waste (household garbage), and said vegetative material will be handled in air-curtain burners rather than open burning. He urged residents to report debris for pickup and said SDR will perform multiple passes in many locations before declaring a final pass that triggers a public notice for curbside set-outs.
