County approves $76,071 change order for Pine Street building renovation

Special Projects Director Jessie Woodrow, Schaefer Architecture representative Gary Holler and Vogts Construction rep Cody Palmer presented the proposed changes, which include upgrades and additions to the fire-suppression system and several alterations to the building floor plan. Project documents in the packet list labor and material increases across mechanical, electrical and drywall scopes and note the change order would add about 30 days to the estimated completion timeline.
Commissioner Terry Scott moved to approve the change order and authorize staff to sign; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously. The board accepted the contractor’s estimate for the work and authorized staff to manage the contract modification.
Why it matters: The Pine Street renovation is an ongoing county capital project. The change order covers safety-related fire-suppression changes and design adaptations that county staff and the architect identified as necessary to meet code and operational needs.
