Several residents and local officials used the public comment period to express support for Lynnette Redington, Harvey County Health Department Director, and Assistant Director Toby Harkins on March 11. Speakers included Beth Shelton, the county EDC Director, who said "Lynnette is a good resource," and others who credited Redington with bringing grant funding and strong leadership to the department. One speaker, Penny Dorado, noted that 29.5% of Health Department directors statewide do not have formal medical training, arguing that administrative ability matters for the role.
Commissioner Don Schroeder publicly thanked commenters and expressed support for Redington and her staff. The commission did not take disciplinary action during the meeting; Redington said the Pine St. building public entrance will close March 25–28 for construction but staff will remain available by phone.
