Commission approves small remodel at El Dorado EMS station and okays engine repair for EMS truck

Facilities Management Director Travis Cornell proposed converting the EMS training-room closet into an office, replacing carpet in crew quarters, installing new lights and painting; Facilities Management will perform the remodel and the board authorized awarding carpet and installation in a not-to-exceed amount of $13,500 to be paid from the CIP EMS Equipment reserve. "The training room closet will be converted into an office," Cornell said when outlining the project scope.
Separately, the board was informed that Butler County EMS lost an engine on a 2021 box truck because of a mechanical failure; staff estimated repair costs at $16,108.03. Commissioners approved repairs not to exceed that amount (motion carried 5-0).
