Butler County to solicit bids to replace outdated North Shop fuel pumps

Curtis Mader, Public Works Director, said the fuel pumps at the North Shop have repeatedly failed or pumped slowly over the past year, especially in afternoon periods. Two separate vendors inspected the system and concluded the existing suction pumps use outdated technology, cannot be reliably repaired and should be replaced with a modern tank-mounted push-pump system. The Board authorized Public Works to solicit competitive bids for both equipment and installation; the motion passed 5-0.
