Public Works authorized to add pickup to 2026 equipment bids after staff reassignments

Curtis Mader, Public Works Director, explained that recent staffing changes and equipment reassignments left Engineering without a reliable inspection vehicle and that a newly hired surveyor will use the GMC Yukon currently housing survey equipment. To restore inspection capacity, staff recommended purchasing a new pickup for the Assistant County Engineer and reassigning the current pickup as the Engineering inspection vehicle.
Commissioner Dan Woydziak moved to add a half-ton pickup to the current bid package; Commissioner Jeff Masterson seconded the motion and it passed unanimously, 5-0. The board recorded no additional conditions on the solicitation.
