Mayor Sara Bobst swore in Patrol Officer Tanner A. Doenges at the Rocky River City Council meeting on July 13, 2026. Chief Lichman thanked family and colleagues in the chamber and said Doenges "brings almost four years of experience with the Euclid police department" and will "strengthen the police department from day one."
Chief Lichman urged the new officer to "embrace the department's core values of integrity, professionalism, duty, courage, and teamwork" and thanked family members for the sacrifices that come with a law-enforcement career. Officer Doenges thanked the Mayor and Chief and said he is "really happy to be here and looks forward to serving this community."
The meeting began with a procedural motion by President Shipp, seconded by Mr. Furry, to waive the reading of the June 22 minutes and approve them as presented. The roll call on that motion was Gallagher—aye; Furry—aye; Hunt—abstain; Shipp—aye; Havemann—aye; Morris—aye (motion passed: 5 ayes, 1 abstain).
