The Maui County Board of Variances and Appeals voted on April 9 to elect David Weiss as chair and Harry Hecht as vice chair.
Member Harry Hecht moved to elect David Weiss as chair; Member Joe Wilson seconded the motion and the board voted in favor. Later in the meeting Member Alison Grimes moved to elect Harry Hecht as vice chair and Chair David Weiss seconded the motion; that vote also passed. The minutes record the assenting members as D. Weiss, H. Hecht, A. Grimes, M. Stoops, D. Vial and J. Wilson.
Member Grimes asked why the election was being held; Deputy Corporation Counsel Thomas Kolbe explained the vote was required because the board is beginning a new session. The meeting opened for public testimony and JC Law requested to testify (no substantive testimony content recorded in the minutes). The meeting was called to order at 1:30 p.m. and adjourned at 1:42 p.m.
