Member Heather Ruth‑Durham suggested keeping discussions concise and noted meetings can last up to three hours; Member John Tomoso recommended limiting meetings to about 90 minutes and improving camera coverage for virtual attendees. County Executive Rowena Dagdag‑Andaya said the office would consult Corporation Counsel on the legal process for changing membership size and proposed a future presentation on federal requirements under the Older Americans Act and possible mechanisms for membership changes.
Chair Ed Romson emphasized preserving representation for communities including Molokai, Lana‘i and Hana. The council did not take formal action; members discussed options and flagged quorum and representation concerns for follow-up.
