Rocky River council certifies unpaid sidewalk, sewer and property maintenance charges for county collection

Council voted to certify unpaid sidewalk and sewer charges for collection by the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Officer during its July 27 meeting.
Mr. Furry explained that Resolution No. 38-26 (sidewalk reconstruction) and Amended Resolution No. 39-26 (delinquent sanitary sewer accounts) implement the City’s process to recover costs where the City paid for repairs and invoiced property owners. For the sewer certification the City initially listed 496 parcels totaling $150,152.32; that roll was reduced to 312 parcels totaling $103,891.46 prior to certification. Both resolutions were amended with updated exhibits and passed unanimously where recorded.
Council also passed Ordinance 47-26 to certify unpaid property maintenance costs to the county for collection; affected property owners had been invoiced previously (december 2025) and were given opportunities to pay before certification. The actions send lienable assessments to the county tax roll in accordance with state law and city procedure.
