Council tables childcare grant request as Trinity Learning Center closure tightens timeline

She outlined a pod-model approach used in other Minnesota towns and noted a DEED grant opportunity of about $600,000 with estimated building costs of $1.2 million that would require matching funds or in-kind contributions.
Because staff and council needed additional information and due to the compressed grant timeline (applications due Oct. 31), Mayor David Wright moved to table the matter pending more details; the motion passed unanimously and the council indicated it might call a special meeting if timely action is required.
