Soil and Water District: septic upgrades, wetland approval and soil-health grant funds

Sara Gronfeld, District Administrative Manager for the Soil and Water Conservation District, told the Board the district received three new SSTS permit applications and completed construction and inspection for a septic upgrade grant project.
Gronfeld said $25,038 will be available in 2026 for qualified septic-upgrade projects. She also relayed that MnDOT determined a fiber-optic line application met Wetland Conservation Act no-loss standards and was approved, construction of lined waterway outlets has started, and $220,000 in state and federal soil-health grant funds have been allocated with an additional $100,000 requested.
