Council approves amendment increasing Coastland Engineering agreement for construction management and inspection

Council approved an amendment to the city's agreement with Coastland Engineering to increase the not'to'exceed contract amount to reflect additional design, construction management and inspection work on upcoming capital projects.
The staff presentation noted Coastland has provided planning, plan check, specification and inspection services for the city since 2011 and that rising capital work (including the Phase 6 sewer project) will increase demand for on'site inspection and construction management. Staff emphasized that much of the added contract value reflects services already funded in capital project accounts and that the amendment is intended to align contract authorization with the actual level of work.
"They bring a level of expertise to the community," a council member said in thanking the firm for continuity on long'running projects. The council moved to approve the amendment and authorized the city administrator to execute related documents.
