City Clerk/Administrator Mary Lou Hildreth reported that bids for the city’s CDBG well project are due June 25 after the original bid date was pushed from June 11 because of issues with the bid documents. She told the council Representative Brannan relayed that the city’s legislative appropriation request for $550,000 was approved at $275,000.
"our legislative appropriation request for $550,000 was approved for $275,000 (which will hopefully be enough to fully cover the remaining construction cost shortfall)," Hildreth said. She said the city will need to review the actual bids when they are received and noted it remains possible the Governor could line-item veto the appropriation.
No formal action or contract award was taken at the meeting; staff will return with bid results and a recommendation when available.
