The Redmond School District 2J Budget Committee approved the 2026–27 Proposed Budget on May 13, 2026. Liz Goodrich moved to approve the budget as presented by Superintendent Cline; Michael Summers seconded and the motion carried, 9-0.
Superintendent Cline told the committee, “The overall 2026-27 Proposed Budget is $272,868,200.” He said the $65 million increase from the prior year is driven mostly by capital project work; the Capital Projects Fund accounts for 27.6% of the district’s total budget for 2026–27. The superintendent reviewed the mix of funds included in the proposal, including the General Fund, Special Revenue Funds, Debt Service, Capital Projects funded by general obligation bonds, and the Internal Service Fund for district insurance and deductibles.
Committee members voted without recorded dissents. The approval authorizes the district to move forward with the spending plan and related capital work identified in the budget documents. The meeting record shows the motion passed on a 9-0 vote; no amendments to the proposed budget were recorded during the session.
The Budget Committee will not need further committee-level approval for the budget adoption action recorded on May 13; the committee’s approval and the tax levy-setting vote (also taken at the meeting) are reflected in the minutes.
