The Redmond School District Board of Directors on Nov. 19 approved a sole-source exemption to purchase Alerton Controls Systems automated HVAC controls districtwide as part of its capital bond program, in an estimated amount of $2,500,000. Director Ashley Proctor moved the procurement action and Director Keri Lopez seconded; the motion carried 5-0.
Board members discussed the procurement as part of the district’s ongoing bond-funded modernization work. The board’s action also included a formal exemption from competitive bidding rules to permit the sole-source purchase; an opportunity for public comment was offered and none was provided. The item was presented to the board by Chad Franke.
