Board ratifies payroll, purchase reports and several facilities contracts; multiple resolutions adopted

At its May 14 meeting, the Porterville Unified Governing Board approved routine consent items and several facilities-related contracts and resolutions.
The Board approved the Minutes of April 23, 2026, and payroll orders for April 2026 in the amount of $14,349,440.04, ratified purchase orders and the Total Payments Report for April, and approved out-of-county field trips and two rejections of claims. The consent motions were moved and seconded and "Motion carried; all seven members present voting aye."
Facilities matters approved included Change Order Nos. 2 and 3 for the Granite Hills High School pool remodel, Change Order No. 4 for a new freezer for Student Nutrition Services, and Change Order No. 6 for new preschool/TK/kinder classrooms at Santa Fe Elementary. The Board also adopted Resolution No. 27-26 to authorize furniture purchases for the Santa Fe classroom project via a piggyback agreement with Sierra School Equipment Company, and Resolution No. 28-26 ratifying a California Multiple Award Schedule contract with The Garland Company for roofing and insulation materials. The Board adopted Resolution No. 29-26 ordering regular Governing Board member elections for Trustee Areas 3, 4, 5 and 7.
Board members voted unanimously on the recorded motions; the minutes list aye votes for all seven trustees on these items.
