District recognizes community partners, students and educators

During the May 28 meeting, district staff and administrators presented multiple recognitions and special presentations. Roseanna Alcaraz, District Migrant Coordinator, recognized Bert Martinez and the Kiwanis Club of Porterville for their contributions to the migrant program. Shondra Walker highlighted the Manufacturing and Construction Technology Academy Pathway’s recognition by the National Academy Foundation and named two students for SkillsUSA achievements.
Jeff Brown, HMA Principal, recognized Jeromy Blackwell as the Tulare County Teacher of the Year. Tara Warren, Director of the AmeriCorps Program, recognized five educators who were selected statewide for the Education Impact Award through the Student Success Coach Learning Network: Evelina Lara, Nathaniel Crocker, Claudia Medrano, Georgina Torres, and Valeria Lopez. Dr. Jen Francone and Andrew Woodley recognized the 2025–26 Aspiring Administrators cohort by name. These items were presented as part of the recognition portion of the agenda and required no board action.
