Dickson County Commission approves budget amendment authority, approves minutes and notaries

CHARLOTTE, Tenn. — The Dickson County Commission met June 22 in the Buford L. (Booty) Reed Jr. County Commission Chamber and approved a package of routine and financial items, including two resolutions that authorize budget amendment authority, acceptance of a Three Star Fiscal Confirmation letter recommended by the county's economic development director, and approval of a list of notaries.
Resolution 06-2026-04, which authorizes certain amendments to all county funds except those established for schools, and Resolution 06-2026-05, which authorizes certain amendments to school-related funds (General Purpose School Fund, Fund 141; Federal Projects Fund, Fund 142; Central Cafeteria Fund, Fund 143; and Capital Project Fund, Fund 177), both passed on motions recorded as unanimous aye voice votes. The commission also approved the May 18, 2026 meeting minutes and the June 1, 2026 special session minutes on unanimous voice votes.
Economic development director Terry Malone recommended the Three (3) Star Fiscal Confirmation Letter; commissioners approved the letter on a motion by Commissioner Mike Petty and a second by Commissioner Dwight McIllwain. The commission deferred three speed-limit studies — for Old County House Road, Slaydenwood Road and White Road — to the commission's July 20, 2026 meeting for further consideration.
The commission approved a slate of notaries (including Crystal Badham; Anisa U. Balitsky; Alyssa Bateman; Stacey Diener; Alyson Fuson; Emily J. Gordon; Penny T. Harris; Jessi Howell; Lisa L. Kinakin; Paige KJ Medrano; Terrill Michelle Miller; Jojo-Ayne Nordike; Mariel Perez; Emma Stephens; Scott Story; Victoria Vaughn; Sherry Weaver; and Linda Woods) on a motion by Commissioner James C. Dawson with a second by Commissioner Randy Simpkins. Commissioner Mike Petty announced that the Vietnam Traveling Wall will be at the local VFW Post from June 26–29, 2026. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
