Board ends several liaison appointments over perceived conflict-of-interest concerns

Coordinator Pam Rud reported on recommended changes to board liaison appointments. County Attorney Rebecca Trapp advised that, given perceptions of potential conflicts of interest with state and federal funding, liaison appointments to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA), Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), BdSWSD and Upper Minnesota River Watershed SD (UMRWSD) should be terminated immediately.
Commissioner Klages moved and Commissioner Radermacher seconded the motion to end those appointments as recommended; the board approved the change unanimously. The minutes record the board action but do not list which commissioners had held each liaison post prior to termination.
