Danella Clark, the city grants manager, briefed the Historic Preservation Board on the grants division's efforts to pursue funding for historic preservation projects and requested the board's support in the form of letters when appropriate.
"We would really appreciate your support in providing us — we will write the letters on your behalf," Clark said, adding that the division will share draft letters with staff and board members. She told the board the grants team is starting to focus on assisting more historic residences citywide and identified the "7 Gables" as one of the primary projects she is seeking funding for. Clark confirmed the grants work covers properties within the Fort Pierce city limits.
Board members asked whether the effort covered properties across the waterway; Clark said it does and that the grants division has been revamped to increase support for preservation projects. There were no public comments on the item.
