Councilmember Bill Wetherton told the Council that the Anchorage Historic Preservation Commission reviewed six applications in July, including the Holtons' request to demolish the house at 12004 E. Osage Road. Wetherton reported that AHPC denied the demolition request and that the Holtons intend to appeal that decision to the City Council.
Mayor Neil Ramsey requested that AHPC members attend a future Council meeting to explain the reasons for disapproval and asked staff to provide AHPC minutes and a full project history for Council review. The minutes do not record a date for the appeal hearing or the specific rationale AHPC used in denying the application; AHPC's written minutes were requested for Council review.
