Resident urges pause on RFPs and says 'zero homes should be built'

Michael Flett addressed the Select Board during the public comment period on Feb. 17, thanking the board for pulling back on the RFP process and suggesting that an indoor recreation facility might be possible given the age profile of some community members.
When asked by Rob Gaiotti about an appropriate unit count, Flett said he thought "zero homes should be built". He also questioned the town’s spending on consultants and asked who interacts directly with them; Town Manager Rob Gaiotti replied that recent consultant work dates back to 2018 and has been overseen through the Town Manager’s office.
Flett’s remarks framed several later questions from board members and attendees during the housing presentation and the planned Feb. 18 forum, where community input on unit type and count will be solicited.
