Carneys Point Township reported a notable drop in its municipal court caseload at the Sept. 18 meeting, where Dr. Johnson said the court now has 2,872 cases pending, down from 4,533 at the same time last year. Dr. Johnson also listed August activity: 30 complaint summons, seven complaint warrants and 20 borough ordinances. "The court currently has 2,872 cases pending, down from 4,533, that were pending this time last year," he said.
Dr. Johnson said staff will begin work on the 2025 court calendar and the township will start budget preparations in the next few weeks. He also reported that the ramp for the Annex building is expected to be completed in the next couple of weeks and that residents may use the Clerk's office for assistance entering the Annex during the final work. The report provided counts for recent enforcement: 431 traffic tickets in August, including 243 issued by Carneys Point police, 177 by Pennsville police and 11 by the Delaware River Bay Authority.
