Residents raise ADA accessibility, tree hazards and potholes during public comment

During the public-participation portion of the meeting several residents raised maintenance and accessibility concerns. Patty Bomba pressed the committee about ADA accessibility at the podium and asked whether Phase II of the Recreation Complex will address ADA needs. Dave Wright said trees on Springfield are hanging into the street; Mrs. Shaw noted the trees are DuPont property and said she would follow up. Cleo Johnson reported that Public Works collected branches at one house but skipped the next because that homeowner had not placed a work order; Pelura explained that service requires a work order.
Greg Martin asked who owns the alleys on the alphabet streets; Pelura said ownership is split between adjacent property owners (half to each). Eleanor Washington urged broader public involvement in Recreation Complex planning and noted potholes on Penns Grove–Auburn Road, which the mayor identified as a County road. Committee members acknowledged the concerns and directed staff and relevant agencies to follow up.
