Council accepts donation of Lucas CPR device valued at $22,515

The fire department reported it had received a donation of a Lucas mechanical CPR device from the Central Minnesota EMS Region and asked the council to accept the gift. The department representative explained a Lucas device assists in CPR and said the department will receive training for the equipment.
"The value of it is $22,515," the department representative said. Council moved to accept Resolution 2025-07 to accept the donation; the motion was seconded and passed 5-0. The department said the device will help on-scene care, especially when manpower is limited during daytime hours.
Council also approved a related personnel action to change firefighter Kristen Detloff's status from reserve to full firefighter, effective November 7, 2024. That motion passed 5-0.
