WestCOG elects Marconi as chair; regional MPO slates approved
Summary
The Western Connecticut Council of Governments approved its officer slate for 2026 and MPO leadership during its Feb. 19 meeting; all slates were approved unanimously.
Rudolph Marconi was elected chairman of the Western Connecticut Council of Governments at the Feb. 19 meeting in Ridgefield, part of a slate that also named Dan Carter vice chairman, Jon Zagrodzky treasurer and Julia Pemberton secretary.
The slate was presented by WestCOG staff and approved unanimously after a motion by New Fairfield First Selectman Pat Del Monaco and a second by Sherman First Selectman Don Lowe. The Housatonic Valley MPO and South Western Region MPO similarly approved their officer slates: HVMPO elected Julia Pemberton as chairman and Dan Carter as vice chair; SWRMPO elected Jon Zagrodzky as chairman and Dionne Carlson as vice chair.
The leadership votes were procedural and carried without recorded opposition. The meeting record notes the next WestCOG meeting is scheduled for March 19 at 12:00 p.m.
