Commission approves fairgrounds carnival contract, invasive-species grants and utility easement

Jan Rhodes requested approval to renew the carnival contract with City Fund for the county fair; staff confirmed the contract had been reviewed and commissioners approved Contract 26-26 by motion. Darren McFarland of the Weed and Road department presented two UDAF invasive-species mitigation grants: a Rush skeleton-weed grant for $66,000 (Agreement 26-28) and a knapweed grant for $21,077 (Agreement 26-29); both grants were approved by voice vote. Darren also explained a plan to move overhead power lines underground at the Elwood Road shed and requested an easement so Rocky Mountain Power can install and maintain conduit to the meter inside the facility; commissioners approved the easement and adopted the companion Resolution 26-21.
