Council approves $15,000 amendment to Chamber of Commerce service agreement for July 4 parade security

The council approved Resolution No. 1881 on June 22 to authorize the mayor to execute an amendment to the Chamber of Commerce service agreement for additional July 4 parade security funding.
"Resolution 18 81 would authorize the use of the $15,000 that was authorized by council in a previous meeting, to cover $8,500 which would cover barriers to line the parade route, and then $2,500 to cover overtime compensation for 6 additional city staff to help man the parade and then $4,000 of that to be allocated to the chamber for hiring security and event staffing," Parks Director Lina Hicks told the council during the staff report. The funds had already been authorized; the amendment formalizes how the funds will be allocated.
A councilmember moved approval and the council adopted the resolution by voice vote.
