A Montrose resident asked the council on May 12 to repair a settled curb and catch-basin area in Pheasant Hills that he says has damaged vehicles and created a safety hazard. "We would like to, you know, have our curb fixed in front of our property," the resident said when asked to give his name and address.
Public works staff explained that the visible problem appears connected to inflow and infiltration at a catch basin and that a proper repair would require addressing the storm sewer before replacing the curb and sidewalk. Staff recommended getting one or more contractor quotes and warned the repair could be more costly if done outside a larger scheduled project. The council voted 5-0 to direct staff to obtain quotes for work at 212 Quail Drive and return with recommendations.
Council members discussed options including surveying a larger area to identify other problem catch basins, the budgetary trade-offs of separating this work from the broader Pheasant Hills project and the practical limitations of getting a contractor to perform a small standalone job. Public works said it will seek multiple quotes and report back to council.
