Board schedules deep dive, requests lesson observations and student/parent surveys on advisory

After hearing student feedback and staff accounts, board members asked the district to organize a thorough review of advisory delivery. One board member requested site teams (including the teacher who piloted the program and counselors) to present implementation details, vendor materials and evidence at a future subcommittee meeting, and suggested comparing Vasquez practices with other sites such as High Desert and MetaLab.
The subcommittee also agreed to develop two surveys tailored separately to students and parents after the deep dive to capture perceptions, implementation variation by teacher and grade-level differences, and whether advisory is effectively serving its aims. Director of Ed Services (S3) and Reyna (S8) agreed to help assemble site staff and evidence for the follow-up meeting. No formal motions or votes were taken on program change during this meeting.
