The Acton-Agua Dulce Unified School District Board on June 30 appointed Jessica Gania to fill the Trustee Area 4 vacancy after interviewing four candidates at a special meeting.
Board President Brianna Taxoni moved to appoint Gania and a trustee seconded the motion; the vote carried with trustees present voting in favor. Gania acknowledged the appointment and said she comes to the board as a parent. "I am Jessica Gania. I am a parent here. My son is currently a Vasquez High School student," she said during her interview, adding that her volunteer work in classrooms and booster activities shaped her perspective.
Board members said they appreciated the candidates' willingness to serve and noted the appointment is provisional; the appointee must file to run in the November election to remain on the board. The board set the oath of office and the next regular meeting for August 13, 2026.
