Board notes several closed or sold businesses and gaps in permit transfers

Sevier County Beer Board Secretary Kelsey Waters reported multiple permit-holder status issues at the Feb. 10 meeting. Geppetto’s (3250 Wears Valley Rd) and Seymour Speedway Market (626 Maryville Hwy) have not rebuilt after fires (reported Nov. 2020 and June 18, 2021) and are considered closed; the board was informed these locations are not currently operating under active permits.
Waters also said Harbor Grill (1590 Dyke Rd) was sold in May 2023 and the new owner has been renewing the privilege tax under the previous owner's name without applying for a new beer permit; Mountain Cove Marina at the same address was sold in Sept. 2024 and the new owner was advised to apply for a permit. The secretary added that three permit holders — Lifestyle Vacation Network, The Fox and The Apple, and Jack’s Market — have expired business licenses and letters will be mailed advising they must obtain a valid business license.
