Verhus highlighted program metrics and volunteer capacity, saying, "Our mental health program has grown immensely," and noting that "there's about 400 meals prepared from scratch each week" for seniors and roughly 87 volunteers who help prepare, shop and deliver the meals. She told council the senior hot-meals program currently serves 66 seniors and that deliveries provide multiple meals per week.
Kristen Reed, the city's finance director, later referenced budget items related to reader boards and other operational funds during the meeting's budget discussion; Verhus thanked the city for past support and invited council members to contact the foundation with follow-up questions.
