The city’s youth advisory council members who went to Denver described the trip as a formative civic experience and an opportunity to represent Franklin’s young people. Sophia Bailey said the council provided personal development and public‑facing opportunities, including interviews and the Denver presentation. "This was really such an incredible experience," Bailey said.
Organizers said council members offer input on city topics and that the program is recruiting rising high‑school freshmen through seniors for the coming year. Bailey told the audience she received a HAZLM scholarship to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and said the council gave her a foundation for opportunities such as radio interviews and participation on the football field at UT.
