Council hears project updates: Mercy demo permit, museum storage site, and local commercial openings

City planning and inspections staff updated the council on several local development projects. Staff reported a demolition permit has been issued for interior work at Mercy (9321); the city expects interior finish plans in September and PCDC has asked for resubmitted elevations now under review, with staff expecting to return those to PCDC in August. Staff also noted permits at 9200 Short Line Drive (Industrial Court) to be used as storage for the Saint Louis Art Museum and to support the local history museum.
Other commercial activity included Taco Bell pursuing ADA access improvements and new signage, Rix Ace Hardware finishing interior work in the former Party City location and aiming for an opening the first week of August, and the Olivet Lane bowling alley receiving permits to replace roughly 240 linear feet of a rear retaining wall with stormwater-related changes. Public works also reported pavement work on Dealman Industrial and milling of Price Road with asphalt to follow; staff said they discovered a shallow Spire gas line on the Price Road project and will present an easement to council to accommodate moving the line.
