Rio School District approves multiple construction and DSA-certification contracts; Kenco extension #2 tabled

The Rio School District Board approved a suite of construction and DSA-certification proposals and ratified change orders on Oct. 15.
Among the consent items approved were proposals from KBZ Architects for DSA certification of non-certified buildings, a proposal for landscape architectural services from Jordan & Bain for Rio Del Mar Elementary campus renovation, replacement of exterior and security lighting at Rio Real and Rio Del Valle campuses by Venco Electric, change orders for Monet Construction on the Rio Lindo new restroom building and Rio Del Norte playground, and related DSA-certification work. The board also approved Extension #1 from Kenco for increased DSA inspection of the Rio Lindo Elementary School New Restroom Building REBID.
The board specifically tabled item 9.31 — Approval of Extension #2 from Kenco for increase to DSA inspection of RDV Kitchen Renovation 24-06L — to a later date as announced during agenda approval. Board members asked for follow-up reporting on bond fund usage and scheduling for construction items.
The board approved the consent package by a 4-0 vote (Anderson, Eisenhauer, Martin, Mejia). Contracts and proposals approved at this meeting will move to department-level implementation and further public reporting as required by DSA and district procedures.
