Commissioners approve several line‑item transfers for jail, jury and purchasing needs

The Commissioners Court approved a set of line-item transfers addressing several operational needs.
For the jail, staff requested additional funds moved from hospitalization to copier lease and maintenance to cover an increased lease cost for 2024; the court approved the transfer. Court staff also requested a transfer in the jury fund from forms to petty jurors to provide funds in case a jury trial occurs before year-end, which the court approved. Purchasing staff asked to shift funds from forms to dues, reimbursements, mileage, continuing education and travel to cover December training for the purchasing director and staff; that transfer also passed.
Officials noted the transfers are standard budget housekeeping to keep operations funded through 2024. Each item was moved, seconded and approved on voice votes during the meeting.
