Comal County approves $15,497 JAG application; MOU with New Braunfels allows use of city allocation

Captain (law enforcement) told the court, "We plan on using the funds to purchase 25 SIG slides for our SWAT team's pistols. And those slides are equipped with optics and holsters." The court also approved a memorandum of understanding with the City of New Braunfels that allows the county to use the city's allocation toward the application. The action package authorized the county judge to sign required documents.
The award, if granted by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, would fund law-enforcement equipment for the Comal County Law Enforcement Equipment Program; the court did not discuss alternate equipment or additional matching funds at the meeting.
