Comal County issues proclamations honoring native plants, mediation, Red Ribbon Week, Little League and Wurstfest

The Comal County Commissioners Court read and approved five proclamations at its Oct. 17 meeting, recognizing Texas Native Plant Week (Oct. 20–26), Mediation Awareness Month (October), Red Ribbon Week (Oct. 23–31), the 2024 New Braunfels Little League Junior All-Star Team, and the 63rd Wurstfest (Nov. 1–10, 2024).
Court members highlighted local organizations and volunteers who support the initiatives. A representative of the Lindheimer chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas, speaking after the proclamation, said, "I also want to remind everyone that there is no nature without native plants." A representative of the Central Texas Dispute Resolution Center described its 15-year service to several counties and invited the public to visit its office. Wurstfest representatives described the festival's economic support for nearly 40 nonprofits and encouraged attendance.
All proclamations were approved by motion and voice vote. The court also invited recipients and organizers to join ceremonial photos in the meeting chamber.
