Treasurer Ms. Couch presented the October 2024 monthly report and described recent movement in investment yields tied to market reactions to the election. She said yields dropped to the mid‑threes in September but rebounded into the mid‑fours in October as confidence returned to markets.
"So in September when they dropped the rates, of course we saw in October, investments dropped to the mid threes. Then we have results from an election... they're back up into the mid fours," Ms. Couch said. She added there is potential for another rate cut in December and the county will monitor opportunities to "take advantage" where possible.
Commissioners moved to accept the treasurer's monthly report and the motion carried by voice vote.
