Comal County Commissioners Court voted to accept a donation of 100 challenge coins valued at $1,015 from the Military Veteran Peer Network, Hill Country MHDD, for distribution to Veterans Treatment Court participants.
A program representative described the coin’s use as a graduation token handed to participants at the Veterans Treatment Court ceremony and said the court began officially on Jan. 2, 2016 and has roughly 70 graduates to date. County staff recommended acceptance of the donation to replenish the program’s supply, and the court approved the acceptance by motion.
County officials encouraged the public to attend graduation ceremonies and noted that invitations are distributed to those interested in attending.
