Conservation commission approves $4,400 Riverwalk encroachment survey, plans notification to abutters

The commission reviewed a scope and fee from Dan Tatum for a Riverwalk property encroachment survey. The proposed work by Stantec would survey two properties that appear to encroach on conservation easements, stake boundaries, and install up to five monuments with an authorization of up to $4,400.
"So I would motion that we approve the payment for the Riverwalk property encroachment survey... Stantec for the amount up to $4,400," a commissioner said; the motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote. Commissioners clarified that the base survey was $3,700 and the additional $700 covered monument installation (up to five monuments at $140 each).
The commission agreed to notify abutters (letters are in the packet) but said they cannot send the letters with the Society for Protection of New Hampshire Forest's signature until that partner signs. Members also said they will try to attend the field work to photograph and document conditions when the surveyor stakes the properties.
