County authorizes multiple job postings and reclassifications, including emergency management director and 911 deputy director

At the Dec. 3 meeting, the Sanilac County Board of Commissioners authorized several personnel actions including a reclassification that raises pay grades for specified positions effective Jan. 1, 2025, and approved posting and filling of multiple vacancies.
The board specifically authorized posting and filling a 911 deputy director position at pay grade 9 and a deputy equalization director/mapping specialist at pay grade 6 step 1; it also approved posting the emergency management director position and adopted an updated job description at pay grade 10. Administrator Nathan told the board the emergency management posting closes this week and interviews should begin the following week.
Other personnel items adopted included an employment agreement for a soil erosion and sedimentation control enforcement agent, Joseph Allen, at $30 per hour not to exceed 14 hours per week for 2025. Those motions were moved by the finance chair and supported by commissioners, and each passed by voice vote.
