The Hooksett Zoning Board voted to rename its existing zoning-ordinance subcommittee the "land use subcommittee" to give the group a wider remit, including development regulations and related land-use topics.
Board members said the subcommittee has helped fine-tune ordinance language and argued that a broader title would let members address a range of development issues; the motion to change the name was made by a board member and seconded, and the board voted in favor. Several members volunteered to serve and the board chair said she would notify the town planner Grant about membership and scheduling.
Members noted that the subcommittee meetings are open to the public and that any changes would still come back to full boards and planning-board public hearings before being adopted.
