Commission recommends conditional use for Quiet Waters Ministries respite center

The Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval of a conditional use permit for Quiet Waters Ministries, Inc. to operate a quasi-public respite ministry on parcels at the corner of Calhoun Station Parkway and Stout Road (Tax Parcel Nos. 082B-09-002/00.00 and 082B-09-002/07.00).
Applicant representative Matt Vitart told the Commission that a similar conditional use had been granted in 2023 and that Quiet Waters currently operates at a property outside the city. No opposition spoke against the request, and a nearby property owner, Chad Phillips, spoke in favor. Commissioner Andrew Duggar moved for the recommendation, seconded by Commissioner Kayce Saik, and the motion passed unanimously.
The recommendation will be forwarded to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen for final action.
