Chair Ann Stelmack told the room the request was made "on behalf of the owner and the applicant, we respectfully request a continuance" and the board then took a motion to continue the item to Sept. 9. The board voted in favor of the continuance.
A resident who lives near the site asked whether the board could view the property and offered access across private land; board members responded that they could not compel access to a neighboring property and recommended submitting written comments if unable to attend. The board noted that only applicants may formally request continuances under state law and discussed opportunities for written public comment when applicants do not attend.
