LACSD reports PFAS testing below state response level; treatment design moves forward

Lake Arrowhead Community Services District staff reported that recent PFAS sampling of blended treated water averaged 8.8 parts-per-trillion, below California's published Response Level of 10 parts-per-trillion.
Operations Manager Matt Brooks told the Board that the District's sampling program has reduced PFOA and PFAS concentrations in blended, treated water; he said the test results and supporting data are available on the District website. Brooks also reported staff met with vendor N2W on Oct. 29 to discuss PFAS-treatment equipment and that the District received a 30% design package for the Cedar Glen site.
The Board did not take formal action on PFAS treatment at the meeting; staff noted the results and design work as part of ongoing regulatory and capital planning. General Manager Catherine Cerri separately reported the District processed 126 PFAS filter rebate reimbursement requests from July through October, indicating active customer-level mitigation efforts.
The minutes do not identify a firm schedule for construction or a final cost estimate for the Cedar Glen treatment installation; Board members asked questions of staff during the update.
