The planning commission forwarded the permit recommendation with a condition that the facility be used by county law enforcement only unless other uses receive prior approval from the county administrator.
During discussion, board members asked whether the sheriff's department could run firearm-safety or training courses and whether the public could participate if the administrator approved it. S6 explained the planning commission's intent: "the facility used only by county law enforcement and then any other use by other entities received prior approval from the county administrator." The board voted to carry the motion adopting the planning commission's recommendation.
