Box Elder County approved a one-year extension to a payment plan for parcel 03-137-0032 after resident Dustin Norman requested more time to pay outstanding property taxes. County staff reported the total owing was $9,235.89 and represented about six years of back taxes; staff also reported five payments in the last 12 months.
Mr. Norman said he expected to be released back to full duty by December 8 and asked for another year to finish payments. County staff (identified as Sean) said the outstanding balance and payment history merited an updated written agreement that must be recorded through the county attorney. Commissioner Perry moved to extend the payment plan and require a follow-up agreement; Commissioner Bingham seconded and the motion passed by voice vote.
Commissioners told Mr. Norman to keep the treasurer and county attorney informed if problems arise and emphasized that the agreement must be updated through official channels.
